Endeavour Predict CIC is a community interest company whose objectives are to provide decision support for citizens and health care professionals in order to improve health.
Its main focus is predicting, anticipating or informing individual health needs from algorithms designed to deliver insights.
Endeavour Health Charitable Trust was gifted the former ClinRisk Ltd in August 2023. Endeavour is the sole owner of the company.
For two decades ClinRisk specialised in medical software to implement risk prediction algorithms for use in clinical care.
Endeavour Health Charitable Trust created the Endeavour Predict Community Interest Company, to continue the work of ClinRisk and to use all surplus (monies above the cost of running the operation) to support the purpose of the Charity (https://www.endeavourhealth.org) to invest in further research and tools to help predict and prevent ill-health for all.
The charity funds projects that are designed to enable new, or improved, healthcare services.
Best known for its implementation of the QRISK®2 and QRISK®3 heart disease algorithms, now used in over 95% of UK GP surgeries, Endeavour Predict CIC is also responsible for other risk scores, including QDiabetes®, QKidney®, QFracture®, QCancer®, QStroke®, QBleed®, QThrombosis® and QStatins®, which give individualised patient risk of type 2 diabetes, kidney failure, hip and other osteoporotic fracture, an undiagnosed cancer or of developing cancer later, of stroke, of haemorrhage, of thrombosis , and the risk/benefit profile of taking statins respectively.
We also developed QAdmissions®, to predict risk of emergency hospital admissions, and its sister scores QMortality® and QFrailty®, risk of death and a principled measure of frailty respectively, all three looking over a two year horizon. QAdmissions® scores have been calculated for millions of people in the UK since its release.
The science behind each algorithm is published in peer reviewed journals and the implementation of the heart of the algorithms are published as open source software under either the GNU Lesser General Public Licence or the GNU Affero General Public Licence. This is for transparency, to help wide accessibility and to stimulate further research.
Endeavour Predict CIC produces fully featured closed source .NET and Java software development kits for its risk scores, together with appropriate test data and support, to enable system suppliers to integrate them with confidence and to be formally accredited by us.
Endeavour Predict produces several tools which generate risk scores. Collectively we call them QTools®.
